My Daybook

In September….

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW I SEE…. a light breeze blowing through the trees. We also have quite a few butterflies here at the moment.

I AM GIVING THANKS FOR….. Dami having an afternoon nap (that doesn’t happen much these days). It has given us much needed time to sit in peace and focus on a couple of catch up science lessons.

I AM LISTENING TO…. Beth and Isaac are drawing. Dom is silent in the games room, doing electronics no doubt. Jay is practising his tennis serves. All very typical.

I AM THINKING ABOUT…. how much marking I need to catch up on!

I AM LEARNING….more and more about the Protestant Reformation and Shakespeare. Both topics are current in our history reading at the moment. I always enjoy learning along with the kids. Quite often though, they retain the information much better than I do.

I AM READING….Corrie ten Boom’s ‘The Hiding Place’.

I AM CREATING…. a piece on the piano.

IN THE SCHOOLROOM….all kids are diligently working hard on their IXL maths. Zac is nearly finished his writing lessons for IEW PAL!

COOKING IN THE KITCHEN…. we are completely out of snacks so there is some much needed cooking to be done. I am going to make some crackers and try these buns.

IN THE MORNING BASKET… We are still reading ‘A Nest for Celeste’.

I NEVER WANT TO FORGET….how much Dami enjoys talking to people. Whenever we go to the shops he talks to anyone who stands still for long enough to listen.  More often than not, he tells them that he is going to eat dinner. Yesterday he was telling everyone that he was going to have pumpkin soup or tomato soup for dinner.

“I going to have dinner. I going to have punkin soup.”

Maybe that’s what he was planning on cooking, I was planning on cooking a lamb and lentil pie!

PLANNING FOR THE WEEK AHEAD…. I need to make a birthday cake for a friend, and finish her present!

    1. Great! It is so wonderful for their maths. I could almost just have them do this and no other maths programme.
Yes, we miss you too. 😦
