    1. My boys love LOF for high school. My eldest stopped LOF for 17months or so and tried Saxon. When changing to Saxon he tested at the correct level for his age, and then changing back to LOF he is at the right level again. That gave me confidence knowing that Life of Fred is definitely covering all bases and is fine as a stand alone curriculum. The high school books have many more questions that the lower books and give the kids a lot of practise on each topic.

      1. At what point did you/will you switch over to LOF? My daughter still reads the elementary books for fun even if we aren’t using them for math. Thanks for letting me know the upper grade books have more practice.

      2. My 12 year old son has used LOF since he was about 8. We used RightStart A, B and C when he began school and then moved onto LOF. When he was doing long division he was struggling so I picked up a supplement book for him (Math Mammoth) which gave him lots of practise on the topic, then he returned to LOF and hasn’t done any other program since. He is ahead of his peers in maths and tests in the top 90% of the country for Maths for his age. (By the way, it’s alway funny that Americans say ‘math’ and we Aussies say ‘maths’! 😉
